These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to all plumbing and gas engineering services provided by M&M Plumbing & Gas ("we", "us", "our") to you (the "Customer"). By instructing us to carry out work, you agree to these Terms.
1. Quotations
- Quotes are free and based on the information you give us at the time.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
- If, on starting work, the job is materially different from what was quoted (for example hidden defects, additional materials, or extra time), we'll let you know before continuing and agree any change in price with you in writing (including by text or WhatsApp).
2. Bookings
A booking is confirmed once we've agreed a date and you've accepted the quote. We'll do our best to arrive at the agreed time but, occasionally, earlier jobs (especially emergency call-outs) overrun. We'll keep you informed if that happens.
3. Payment
- For most jobs, payment is due in full on completion by bank transfer or card.
- For larger installations (such as boiler replacements or bathroom refits), we may ask for a deposit before ordering materials. This will be agreed in your written quote.
- Late payments may attract interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act where applicable.
4. Cancellations
- You can cancel or reschedule any booked, non-emergency job free of charge if you let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
- Cancellations made with less notice may be charged a small call-out fee to cover lost time.
- Where materials have been ordered specifically for your job, you remain responsible for their cost if they cannot be returned.
- Consumer cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 apply where relevant. If you ask us to start work within the 14-day cancellation period, you may be charged for work already carried out if you cancel.
5. Emergency call-outs
Emergency response times depend on workload and travel. Out-of-hours and same-day call-outs may carry a higher rate, which we'll confirm before attending. We aim to make any property safe even if a full repair can't be completed on the first visit.
6. Workmanship and warranty
- All work is carried out to a professional standard by a Gas Safe registered engineer where gas work is involved.
- Our labour is warranted for 12 months from the date of completion against defects in workmanship.
- Boilers and parts carry the manufacturer's warranty (typically 5–10 years) — we'll register this on your behalf where applicable.
- Warranty excludes damage caused by misuse, system neglect, frost, scale, sludge, third-party tampering or events outside our control.
7. Customer responsibilities
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the property and the working area.
- Tell us about any known issues, hidden pipework or relevant property history before work starts.
- Move personal items, valuables and breakables out of the working area where possible.
- Ensure mains water, gas and electricity are safely available where required.
8. Liability
We hold public liability insurance and are responsible for damage caused directly by our negligence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Pre-existing defects or damage we did not cause.
- Indirect or consequential losses (such as loss of earnings or accommodation costs).
- Damage arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you've given us.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
9. Complaints
If something isn't right, please contact us first at mandmplumbingandgas@gmail.com or 07845 517340 and give us a fair chance to put it right. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
